Hi everyone! My name is Angie and
we had been talking about the best places to enjoy tropical music in Chicago.
But today I want to change a little bit the topic and even when I’ll talk about
the tropical places this time will be about a place where you can feel how the
tropic is.
I want to talk today about “Parque
Tayrona” or “Tayrona National Park”.
This is a park that is located in
the Atlantic cost in Colombia, close to the Santa Marta City. Some websites
call this place: “where the Nature and Archaeology meet” Because, prior the
Spanish invasion, that place was home of a native people (Tayrona indigenous)
who had left many evidences of their life and traditions around the park.
This park is considered one of
the most beautiful costs in South America because you can enjoy lovely beaches
but at the same time this park has a mountain with rain forest. It means that
you can see in the same park the desert or a rain forest. Even on the top of
mountain (Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta) you can find snow that stay there for
the whole year.
Tayrona is a famous place not
only for the beaches. Also, you can see the wildlife on the rain forest or in
the sea. So if you like Eco-tourism this is the place for you because when you’re
inside the park you can find a lot of sidewalks to go to different places
depends what you would like to do. If you like the Archaeology you’d visit “Ciudad
Perdida” because is there where you can find the evidence of the city that was built
by the ancient indigenous people.
One of the interesting points in
this park is that you’ll find camping areas with facilities like showers and
Toilets. Another option is hammocks with mosquito net for a really good price. You’ll
find conventional rooms. But in my opinion I you go there you need to try how
feels to do a camping on the beach and unless for once sleep in a hammocks.
The food there is a traditional Caribbean
food. Many plates will include fish, so you can enjoy the local preparation and
different kinds of fish. You’ll find natural juices from different local
fruits.
Anyways this place is kind of a paradise.
You need to see it with your own eyes and I promise you won’t regret and you
won’t believe it. Because I can describe many things but it never will be close
to how you’ll feel when you’re there.
Ok guys, I hope you like this
podcast. I would like to see your reviews about this place. Thanks, good bye.
