Survival School in Colombia.
January 29.

Colombia has many places where you can make a survival school. But I think one of the best could be the Amazonas.

The Amazonas offers a dangerous enough place for this kind of school. But at the same time it's a beautiful environment with many resources. You can find animals and plants that you just would see en that place. Also, you can try new fruits that are exclusive for the Amazonas region. You will be in a wild place, that means that you'll learn how to survive in a jungle just with the things that you can find there. But please, don't be scare. If you're a person who likes to feel the adrenalin, or if you like the natural places and amazing adventures this school is for you.

In the Amazonas place you'll learn how to recognize a mortal animal, what to do if you're in front of a dangerous animal, what you would eat, where you can drink. Because not all the animals or plants are good for your body. In the Amazonas' Jungle you can find things that could kill you in a few minutes. Also you'll learn how to search for a native humans and learn from them how to recognize the areas and a very important thing, how you can use the sun or the moon to know where is North, South, East or West in the middle of nothing.Where and how you would take a rest and when and how hunter. Don't miss this adventure!!!!

Tasks 1

  • If I were in the Hunter Games, then I would feel anxious.
  • If I were in the Hunter Games, then I would be nervous.
  • If I were in the Hunter Games, then I would be alert.
  • If I were in the Hunter Games, then I would be defensiveness.
  • If I were in the Hunter Games, then I would be ready to kill.

If I had to choose 3 things to help me survive in the wilderness, the first one would be a knife, because it can help me to protect myself and to kill animals that eventually I could eat. The second one' would be a rope, because with it I can climb, hunter, tie different things or another stuff. I guess it could be useful in extreme conditions. the third one, would be a canteen, because if you're in a survival situation you need unless water to drink.

I wish...

January 22 / 2014

I wish the people were not interested in money. Because that ambition for money has caused many problems around the world. For example, many wars has been caused by some people who won money with the war. If there were people who think more in the humanity and less in money the world could be a better place.

I wish in my country the government were honest, and the laws were right. If the government were honest the people there were more productive and we, Colombians would have good feelings about our country. But as there the institution works bad, people don't believe in it. If the laws were right politicians were in jail.

I wish I were working for a project where I were traveling around the world, helping people, teaching and making humanitarian work. I'm crazy about traveling. So, I wish I can find this kind of job because if this happens, this will not a job for  me, I would feel that I'm doing best.

Chicago

Hi, My name is Angie. I'm 26 years old. I moved to Chicago in September 2012. I'm from Colombia. I studied Social Science in my country and some French. But in 2012 when I came to USA I decide to study ESL and  try a new life here.

I started my life in USA in Vail, Colorado. My first summer there was  a really nice experience. I met new people that are still my friends, I  started to learn a new language and I had a job. The mountains are so beautiful and you can enjoy it with different activities.

However I'm a city girl. I just love to try new things and meet people around the world. So, my first visit in Chicago was in July 2012 for the famous concert "LolaPalooza". It was a summer time, Chicago looks incredible, the beach was beautiful, the people, the buildings in down town..... wow. I thought this is the perfect place for me!

Then I found a school and I moved to Chicago. But I never thought how cold could be the winter in Chicago, either how long is it...... Anyway I'm still here after a year. I have met good people, my English has increased and also I had have a lot of fun here.
